Television advertising has become an essential component of successful political campaigns, and Horizons' camera crews excel at bringing winning images to the screen. Regardless of how you may feel about a candidate, you'll like the way they look when we're behind the camera. This spot recently won a national Pollie Award, presented by the American Association of Political Consultants to recognize the best in political and public affairs communications. When former United States Congressman John Kasich publicly announced his intention to run for Governor of Ohio in 2010, Horizons Companies was called on to help. Employing a multi-camera setup, Horizons produced all of the video elements that were assembled to create this stirring announcement.

This lively spot showcases a variety of our 2D and 3D animation capabilities, along with our green screen video production and audio post. The scenes with the on-camera spokesperson were shot in our green studio with built-in infinity cyc wall, then the supporting images were created and seamlessly composited by our motion graphics team. Sound effects were scored to the action to create the crowning touch.

In this spot, Jack Hanna throws his support behind one of the characters from Ed, Edd and Eddy, a popular animated series that featured new episodes on The Cartoon Network for nearly 11 years.

For six years, Buckeye Classics was a staple of the Buckeye fanatic's diet, appearing on television stations and cable outlets throughout the state of Ohio. Today, the compendium resides on more than a dozen purchasable DVDs, and covers the legendary players, coaches, traditions and contests of OSU football lore. Combining interviews, first hand accounts, game footage and more, Buckeye Classics is a series that will undoubtedly stand the test of time.

In an effort to differentiate its personalized service from the kind of service found at 'big box' retailers, Leader Pharmacies (a division of Cardinal Health) and its agency turned to Horizons to help illustrate that difference. This sample is part of a 3-spot, dark humor campaign that was produced by Horizons for Leader.

The Good Feet Store

This national spot for The Good Feet Store stars legendary former professional football player Emmitt Smith. The National Football League's all-time leader in rushing yardage and rushing touchdown, Smith has also been crowned champion on the ABC's hit TV show Dancing With the Stars. In this series of Horizons-produced spots, Smith details how The Good Feet Store is able to satisfy the special footware needs brought on by his football, dancing and other activities.

Columbus Museum of Art

When the Columbus Museum of Art needed nearly 100 million dollars in contributions to expand and update its facilities, it turned to Horizons for help. The campaign videos featured comments from key museum trustees, benefactors, patrons and staff - as well as great artwork from the museum's impressive collection. A long form video was sent to potential donors, and played for select donor groups. This short piece ran in the museum's lobby during the Art Matters campaign.

From employee training pieces to dozens of national TV spots, Horizons has produced a substantial body of work for Stanley Steemer International. This video sample is from an employee education program about a new tile and grout cleaning service. The video features a pair of actual Stanley Steemer employees.

That's why Mount Carmel Health System wanted customers to know its Medicare Advantage plan is easy to understand - and is handled by people they know. These samples are taken from a pair of campaigns we produced for Mount Carmel. One spot features the classic tune by Lionel Richie, Easy Like Sunday Morning.

Ohio Willow Wood

Losing a leg through injury or illness doesn't have to signal the end of one's dreams. Ohio Willow Wood has been developing prosthetic limbs for more than a century - originally out of wood, and later out of things like advanced composite materials. In this video, entitled "Free the Body, Free the Spirit", Horizons profiles several individuals who continue to pursue extremely active lifestyles, in spite of their amputations, thanks to an artificial leg called the Pathfinder. Our crews traveled around the country to collect these inspiring stories.

Americheer

Television production is one of the many services offered by Horizons. We've produced television specials as well as episodic series for local, regional and national TV. For Americheer, we produced The Ohio Cheerleading and Dance Championships, a live-to-tape multi-camera program broadcast throughout the state of Ohio. All of the technical production, including graphics, editing and audio, were completed in house by Horizons staff.

Health Dimensions

A quarterly television show featuring the latest advancements in medical treatments and technologies, Health Dimensions was written, produced and edited by Horizons for OhioHealth. Each 30-minute show featured seven segments, with each segment profiling an OhioHealth physician, a leading edge procedure and a patient whose successful outcome was made possible by both. The Health Dimensions series was broadcast in Columbus for nearly four years, and the segments were made available to television news organizations throughout the state for use within their news programs.
