To Infinity and Beyond! Well to the Moon anyway. We were asked to create a 3D Chapter Opener for Middle School Science. The object was to take the content of the chapter and develop a short engaging synopsis of the covered material. In todays world students are looking for something that moves and talks - so we gave them the moon. Take a look!

Horizons has produced numerous programs for and about JEGS and the Coughlin family - which now includes three generations of champion race car drivers.

Volunteer Energy Commercial
This lively spot showcases a variety of our 2D and 3D animation capabilities, along with our green screen video production and audio post. The scenes with the on-camera spokesperson were shot in our green studio with built-in infinity cyc wall, then the supporting images were created and seamlessly composited by our motion graphics team. Sound effects were scored to the action to create the crowning touch.

We partnered with Carus Publishing, a leading distributor of children's magazines, to bring their award-winning illustrations to life with music and animation. This sample, entitled "Ticket to ride", features some custom flash animation we produced for the
LadyBug
series. (Granted, it may be easy for you to answer the questions posed in the animation...but imagine if you were, say, three years old!)

This is a political spot that we were asked to create for Ohio Issue 3. We illustrated, did sound design and animated this all in one weekend. The spot employs Flash, After Effects and other 2D animation programs - and was created by the Horizons over a feverishly-paced weekend.

When respected urologist Dr. Erroll Singh invented a new product for urethral catheterization which would reduce patient trauma and improve medical outcomes, he turned to Horizons for help in getting that product to market. In a remarkable collaborative effort, we designed and produced everything from his web presence to his business cards (and even hosted his investor meetings). By providing services to help him get his invention patented and manufactured, Horizons played an integral role in helping PercuVision become the gold standard in visually guided catheterization.

When Central Ohio real estate leader HER Realtors grew into a regional - and even national - presence, it re-branded under the name of Real Living. Horizons produced a number of eye-catching and attention-getting spots for Real Living, many combining live action with 2D or 3D animation. This spot played off the resurging popularity of lava lamps to help create a powerful vibe surrounding the redesigned and reenergized company.

Ohio Willow Wood
Losing a leg through injury or illness doesn't have to signal the end of one's dreams. Ohio Willow Wood has been developing prosthetic limbs for more than a century - originally out of wood, and later out of things like advanced composite materials. In this video, entitled "Free the Body, Free the Spirit", Horizons profiles several individuals who continue to pursue extremely active lifestyles, in spite of their amputations, thanks to an artificial leg called the Pathfinder. Our crews traveled around the country to collect these inspiring stories.

SRA Snapshots & Simply Science
Horizons Companies played a vital, ongoing role throughout the development and execution of this grades 1-5 educational project for McGraw-Hill Education's SRA [elementary school] Division. From developing the graphic design and layout of the integrated textbook pages and video screens...to conceiving, researching and writing ninety-nine different video scripts...to shooting, editing and creating animations for the videos...and to creating custom music tracks, every single member of Horizons Companies' staff lent his or her expertise to the project. This is something our lead animator whipped up to demonstrate some of the capabilities of his equipment - and his active imagination. The marriage of live action and 3D animation features "Dolf" - the androgynous humanoid that resides within the Horizons [Companies] logo, and "Louie" - the woolly, whiskered beast who prowls the production house all day - and all night. [In fact, if you ask Louie who 'owns' Horizons, he'd surely say that

Reading program for K-6 students. State-specific versions of this video were produced for adoptions in California and Texas, as well as a generic version for national use.

We have a philosophy at Horizons: "Don't leave them asking for more!" This opening animation is a prime example of that. We received a request to create a prototype video for a possible upcoming project. In the process of producing the prototype, we decided to create this 3D animation to introduce the video. Take a look at the animation - it denotes the underlying implication that the video series will take the viewer from the molecular level of cells (Life Science) to the realms of space (Physical Science) - and everywhere in between!
